P.S. My classes end Tuesday and finals start Friday. Freak out!!!!

Update on my life!!

Yes. I'm sure you're all DYING to know. Ok, maybe not. But I'll tell you guys anyway what's been going on!!

• SCHOOL. Yep. Classes end 2 weeks from today, and finals start 2 weeks from Thursday. It's so unbelievable that these are my very last weeks in Hillsdale : ( I've got 2 projects and a paper left to do before finals start....so, I'll be a busy lady.
• JOB? Yeah, still working on that one. I feel so weird not having one lined up already. Luckily though, I've got many good people willing to help me find one such as several professors, career services office here, and so on. I know I will find something eventually, but the current uncertainty factor is a lil scary. So, I guess my "job" for the first month or so I'm home will be to find a real, adult job. I can handle that. I guess it'll give me an opportunity to catch my breath briefly before entering the infamous "grown up land" that my aunt and uncle always warn Meg and I to stay away from as long as possible.
• LIVING SITUATION. As of now, I'll be at my parent's until at least September. I'll commute to work, wherever that may be, but it'll be good for me to save up a chunk of money. And really, I may be there until January. That could be a good goal: Out by the first of the year. I LOVE my parents more than anything, but I've gotten too used to being entirely independent and having my own apartment throughout college, I don't know how long I'll last without having that freedom. And by January, Miss Carrie will have graduated...hinthint....live with me!! And Meg, of course, if you stay in MN you'll be with me....duh!!!!
• MIKE. I feel like a little girl, but I just smiled when I wrote his name just now lol. He came to visit me this past weekend and it was wonderful! We got to do a little bit of everything: hang out with several of my good friends, hang out at my apartment with Katie and make dinner together, show him around Hillsdale and other Michigan spots I frequent, celebrate Easter together, just talk about life and cuddle and enjoy being around each other. He really does impress me more & more as I get to know him better. We're both at good & exciting places in our lives, and it's nice to have the stability of each other. I like how he's excited to do things together like hang out with Meg and our families and friends. He really makes an effort to let me know how much I mean to him and it's so very sweet I don't even know how to react sometimes. In any case, I've got a good feeling about him : ) but, only time will tell....
• SUMMER. I am SO excited for it! Yeah, I'll have to secure a real job but there will still be plenty of time to spend with my favorites: Meg, Carrie, Andrea, and Leah!!! Let's do fun things as much as possible! Meg and I have decided that since we're poor, tanning will be a staple in our lives. Yep. Sounds FAB!!!

Ok, I could go on forever but I must get back to work! I shall try to be more faithful about my secret blogging! Love and miss you all!!

Things you both should know.

1) Tension tamer tea from Celestial Seasons is amazing. Light lemon and peppermint flavors to relax and soothe you.

2) I can't stand Katie Couric! She took over the Criminal Minds slot tonight for some lame-o Grammy Special. Who cares? Not me!!! I was soooo looking forward to some CM action. Plus, she was mean to Sarah Palin. Enough said.

3) I have senioritis. Reallyyyyy bad. Times 512 gazillion.

4) I have had the urge to go tanning the past few days. But I haven't. Yet....

5) I am wearing our triplet slippers at this very moment.

6) I am distraught that I only have 1 Aly & AJ CD and also that Andrea did not inform Meg and I that a Christmas CD by them existed.

7) I think we all should join the NRA, join a shooting range, and learn how to shoot guns! I've done it a couple times and it's super fun.

8) It would be a dream come true if we all could live together for awhile, even if just for a few months!

9) Boys really aren't thatttt bad. They can actually be very sweet and thoughtful. You just have to be picky and not hang around the wrong ones.

Hello, my newly southern ladies.

I have a confession. Today I went to the Hillsdale College bookstore. Instead of coming out with a new sweater or something of that nature I came out with...books!! Several of them. From a bookstore! Holy crap, who does that?!? And, here's the nerdy part, they were not even for any classes. They were just for fun!! To demonstrate how "fun" they are, I shall name them and give a brief description!!

"The Law" by Frederic Bastiat, famous economist who also wrote about laws, politics, and ethics.

"The Conservative Mind: From Burke to Eliot" by Russell Kirk. Gives a chronology of famous conservative thinkers throughout time.

And the next 3 are specifically published by The Hillsdale College Press, where famous people, professors, etc. write essays or academic papers on certain topics.

"Between Power and Liberty: Economics and the Law."

"Man and State: Religion, Society, and the Constitution."

"America's Entitlement Society."

And holy crap this was like 2.5 years ago!!

The SECRET life of secret bloggers.

So. Meg, Carrie, and I are now secret bloggers. Yep. It's true. AND WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!! Much of the stuff we will end up writing on here won't make any sense to anybody else except ourselves but, therein lies the beauty of it. I suppose we'll make exceptions for only the best of the best to see these. Maybemaybe.

My blog title, "Know that I would fight the tides to be together," comes from a Sanctus Real song called, "Alone." It's a good one. Speaking of song lyrics, that is how I am going to end this first post. It's an older, but absolute favorite of mine. Now matter how many times I hear it, it never gets old. Ironically, it is called, "Growing Old" by The Roosevelts. TMN! TMN! Here's the chorus:

The last line always hits me. That's what a lot of life boils down to for me. Once you have it in your power to make something of yourself, GO OUT AND DO IT!! But, somehow be sure and know that who you are and who you're becoming is someone you will not be ashamed of- that you have changed for the good. What's the best way to do that? I have found that putting your trust and loyalty in a few key people that will help keep you accountable is perhaps one of the most valuable things you can do. Meggie. Carrie. And very few others-you guys are those people for me. And for that alone, I am entirely grateful and truly blessed.
